AGENDA Please check and sign your child’s agenda daily. The agenda will serve as a communication tool between home and school. It will also help your child learn organizational skills. Notes and forms will be placed in the agenda, so please check on a daily basis. Should you have notes or forms to hand in, please attach these in the agenda, or write directly on the page. I check agendas each day. Please place the agenda in the provided Ziploc bag each night, along with any books or other items that your child needs to return. FOOD Lunches and snacks should be well-balanced and should contain fruit and vegetables. Please avoid sending junk food (pop, candy, chocolate) to school. We have anaphylactic students who have life-threatening food allergies in our school, therefore peanut and nut products are not permitted at school. If there are students with allergies other than nut allergies, we will send home a note to advise you. CLOTHING Your child will spend 25 minutes outside per recess break each day. Children needs to be dressed appropriately for the various seasons and weather conditions throughout the year. Also, please ensure your child has a pair of indoor shoes to leave at school. **Please send in a labelled plastic bag containing a complete change of clothes for your child. All items should be labelled with your child’s name or initials. PERSONAL BELONGINGS Please ensure that you label all items sent to school (outdoor clothing, shoes, backpack, lunch bag, etc). Also, please do not send in special toys or collectables to school. It can easy for things to be misplaced or to get broken, and we know that these are treasured items. A soft ball, a skipping rope or other such playground toy (labelled with your child’s name) are welcomed. BIRTHDAYS Birthdays are very special! We will take time to make your child feel important on their special day. Stephen Leacock has a no food policy regarding birthdays, so please do not send in any treats. Thank you for understanding! |
